Are FABCO neuro patties latex-free?→
Yes. Every FABCO neuro patty SKU carried by Sterile Mate is 100% medical-grade rayon and latex-free. Latex is not used anywhere in the pattie, the locator string, the barium sulfate marker, or the packaging.
Are FABCO neuro patties X-ray detectable?→
Yes. Every FABCO neuro patty is manufactured with an embedded barium sulfate radiopaque line that shows clearly on intraoperative and post-operative films. This meets Joint Commission NPSG.14 and AORN retained-surgical-item prevention requirements.
What is the difference between FABCO neuro patties and American Surgical Ray-Cot®?→
Both are U.S.-made, sterile, latex-free, X-ray detectable rayon patties with a locator string, packaged 10 patties per card / 20 pouches per box (200 per box). Clinical performance is essentially interchangeable. American Surgical Ray-Cot® is the more common brand in U.S. hospitals and Sterile Mate is the authorized distributor. FABCO is stocked through our specialty (Off-The-Grid / non-GPO) channel for hospitals whose surgeons or contracts specifically require FABCO SKUs. Yes. Sterile Mate is a non-GPO friendly distributor. No Vizient, Premier, HealthTrust, or Intalere agreement is required. How is a box of FABCO neuro patties packaged?→
Industry-standard pack: 10 patties are wound on a count-verification card, sealed inside a sterile peel-open pouch, with 20 pouches per box — 200 patties per box. This is identical to American Surgical Ray-Cot® packaging, so case-cart pull sheets do not need to change when switching between brands.
How long does it take to get a FABCO price quote?→
